When you need it
After a storm we're usually clearing:
- Trees down on fences, sheds, cars and roofs
- Hung-up branches caught in the canopy ("widowmakers")
- Split or cracked trees that could go in the next gust
- Uprooted trees across driveways and yards
Safety first
If a tree is touching a powerline, stay well clear and keep the kids and dogs back. Ring Ergon on 13 16 70 first. Don't try to pull branches off lines yourself, and don't climb onto a damaged roof.
How we do it
We work out what's holding what, then take the weight off in a safe order so nothing shifts onto the house. Hung-up limbs are rigged and lowered. Split trees are made safe, then we talk with you about whether they can be kept or need to come out.
We'll take photos before and after for your insurer, and give you an itemised invoice they can work with.

Townsville-specific considerations
After the 2019 monsoon floods and the big blows over the years, Townsville knows how fast things go bad when the ground's soaked and the wind picks up. Saturated clay can't hold roots, which is why trees go over that would have been fine in the dry. Pre-cyclone pruning between September and November takes a lot of the risk out.
What it costs
Storm jobs vary a lot because every one is different. Our normal removal ranges are a fair guide, and we'll give you a clear price before we start wherever it's safe to wait.
| Job | Typical Townsville price (inc GST) |
|---|---|
| Small tree removal (under 5m) | $300 – $900 |
| Medium tree removal (5–10m) | $900 – $2,700 |
| Large tree removal (10–15m) | $2,700 – $6,500 |
| Very large trees, crane jobs or trees over powerlines | $6,500+ (quoted on site) |
These are ballpark ranges. See the full Townsville tree removal price guide for what pushes a price up or down, or check our FAQs.
